![]() Google algorithms need time to evaluate the quality of brand new websites and fight spam. Sandboxing looks in line with common anti-spam policies that Google has been trying to reinforce for longer than a decade. However, new domains experience a kind of an undefined probation period before they prove their importance and earn Google trust. To be precise about what sandbox means, let’s agree that there is no in-built sandbox filter as such. Your website will be able to occupy top search positions as soon as it starts demonstrating proper trust and quality signals. So yes, a new website may be disadvantaged in search, but Google does not have a predetermined probation period called sandbox. When talking about the importance of domain age, Matt Cutts said back in 2010: This led Rand Fishkin to get his "final nail in the coffin of the "does the sandbox exist" coffin" leaving him with a focus not on proving the Google sandbox existence, but finding ways out. Later, the site moved to another domain and started ranking easily with the same content and links. He compared the site's rankings on Google, Yahoo, and MSN/Live, and it turned out that the site’s Google rank was much lower than the ranks in the other two. ![]() In 2009 Rand Fishkin reexamined the probable existence of sandbox on another website. The sandbox period lasted for 9 months despite the strong naturally built backlink profile of the website. In 2005 Moz's Rand Fishkin announced that Moz finally managed to escape the Google Sandbox. There have been several waves of discussions where SEO experts attempted to debunk the sandbox myth or prove the existence of sandboxing. Some say it’s at least a month, while others claim that it could be a full year until your SEO efforts start to pay off with organic traffic. There is much debate about what this age is exactly. The assumption is that the filter traps new sites and doesn’t let them rank until they reach a certain age. The sandbox is believed to be a filter for new websites. ![]() This observation gave birth to the theory of Google sandbox. At some point, SEO experts began noticing that it is much easier to rank a new website with Bing or Yahoo than it is with Google. The idea of Google sandbox dates back at least 15 years. How long will my site stay in the Google Sandbox?.How do I know my domain is in the Sandbox?.My best recommendation would be to go slow as it’s easy to spend quite a bit of money on all the additional stuff like stacks for RapidWeaver. There’s also a trial version of stacks you can try as well. You can also check out some other themes (free and demo versions) from themeflood. It’s easy to change themes and try different looks. I would suggest you give the free trial of RapidWeaver a try, go through the video tutorials, and try to copy and paste as plan text the current site. Those could be addressed later, and would require the stacks plugin, and some add-on stacks. There’s always room for improvement on any site, things like an event calendar, integrating Google maps and more. There’s a number of responsive themes that come with RapidWeaver, and plenty more available for free and purchase.Īgain I just did a quick look, but I didn’t see anything that would require much more than just RapidWeaver, to recreate what you have now, and end up with a mobile friendly version of the site. The current site is not responsive, so one thing you definitely want to do is pick a responsive theme. There’s a number of themes that come close to the layout, assuming you don’t want to change things much. ![]() I took a quick look at your current website, and it’s very simple design.
